About the Safe House
The safe house has been in existence since the inception of Sanggar Anak Harapan in 2010. Initially, the safe house was a rented space that constantly changed locations in North Jakarta. Its purpose was to provide a safe haven for children from Tanah Merah Village who were engaged in street activities, allowing them to study peacefully and protecting them from violence on the streets. Currently, the safe house has a permanent location in Tanah Merah Village, North Jakarta.

Currently, there are 15 individuals living in the safe house, ranging from toddlers to teenagers. They are all encouraged to collectively create a safe and nurturing environment for children. The safe house not only provides advocacy support for children who have experienced violence and neglect but also fosters a sense of shared responsibility in maintaining the house and engaging in daily activities together.
At the safe house, these children find solace and a sense of belonging. They are provided with a secure space where they can heal, grow, and rebuild their lives. Through the collective efforts of the residents and dedicated caregivers, the safe house becomes a sanctuary that helps them recover from past traumas and empowers them to envision a brighter future. Together, let us continue supporting the safe house, creating a refuge for these vulnerable children, and providing them with the opportunity to break free from the cycle of violence.
